It never fails to amaze me just how uptight expats get about the first suggestion that a wee touch of taxation might be a good thing.
People, who presumably coughed up about 40 per cent of their income when they lived back home, seem to go apoplectic any time I point out that in a democracy, making a contribution is no bad thing.
